हिमाचल के सिमस गांव में एक सिमसा माता का मंदिर है जिसके फर्श पर सोने से निसंतान महिलाऐ प्रगनेंट हो जाती है। वैसे तो महिलाएं संतान प्राप्ति के लिए न जाने कैसे-कैसे कष्टो से गुजरती हैं, लेकिन यहां तो सिर्फ फर्श पर सोने मात्र से संतान की प्राप्ति हो जाती है।इस मंदिर को संतान-दात्री के नाम से जाने जाता है। यहां दूर दूर से महिलाऐ इस मंदिर के फर्स पर सोने के लिए आती है। नवरात्रा में यहां सलिन्दरा उत्सव मनाया जाता है जिसका अर्थ है सपने आना, निसंतान महिलाये दिन रात इस मंदिर के फर्स पर सोती है। नवरात्रों में हिमाचल के पड़ोसी राज्यों पंजाब, हरियाणा और चंडीगढ़ से ऐसी सैकड़ों महिलाएं इस मंदिर की ओर रूख करती हैं जिनके संतान नहीं होती है।नवरात्रों में निसंतान महिलायें मंदिर परिसर में डेरा डालती हैं और दिन रात मंदिर के फर्श पर सोती हैं ऐसा माना जाता है कि जो महिलाएं माता सिमसा के प्रति मन में श्रद्धा लेकर से मंदिर में आती हैं माता सिमसा उन्हें सपने में मानव रूप में या प्रतीक रूप में दर्शन देकर संतान का आशीर्वाद प्रदान करती है।
लोगो का मानना है की माता सिमसा सपने में महिलाओ को फल देती है और महिलाए सपने में माता से उस फल को लेती है। इसे यह संकेत मिल जाता है की माता ने संतान का का आशिर्वाद दे दिया है। सिर्फ इतना ही नहीं होता इस फल से इस बात का पता चल जाता की महिलाओं लड़का होगा की लड़की।मान्यता के अनुसार, यदि कोई महिला सपने में कोई कंद-मूल या फल प्राप्त करती है तो उस महिला को संतान का आशीर्वाद मिल जाता है। यहां तक की देवी सिमसा आने वाली संतान के लिंग-निर्धारण का भी संकेत देती है।जैसे कि, यदि किसी महिला को अमरुद का फल मिलता है तो समझ लें कि लड़का होगा। अगर किसी को सपने में भिन्डी प्राप्त होती है, तो समझें कि संतान के रूप में लड़की प्राप्त होगी। यदि किसी को निसंतान होने, धातु, लकड़ी या पत्थर की बनी कोई वस्तु प्राप्त हो तो समझा जाता है कि उसके संतान नहीं होगी। और उसके बाद भी वो महिला उस मंदिर से नहीं जाती है तो उसके शरीर में खुजली भरे लाल लाल दाग दिखने लगते है। इसलिए उसे मजबूरन वहां से जाना पड़ता है।मंदिर के पास पत्थर जो हिलता है एक उंगली से:-एक चमत्कार होता है यहां, सिमसा माता मंदिर के पास यह पत्थर बहुत प्रसिद्ध है। इस पत्थर को दोनों हाथों से हिलाना चाहो तो यह नही हिलेगा और आप अपने हाथ की सबसे छोटी ऊंगली से इस पत्थर को हिलाओगे तो यह हिल जायेगा।अब ये तो मान्यताएं हैं और मान्यतों के बारे में हम क्या कहें, हम इस बात की पुष्टि नहीं करते लेकिन जो सत्य है वो तो है ही
